Our scrap yard sits just off the M2 and main routes around Greater Belfast, Newtownabbey and Antrim.

“We see a lot of trades and project teams working in the area for a few weeks at a time. They need a reliable scrap yard nearby, not a long detour through Belfast traffic.”

Commercial scrap metal collection

We offer skip and collection services for bulk scrap metal across Northern Ireland and parts of the Republic of Ireland from commercial customers, including:

Construction sites

Demolition projects

Factories

Engineering companies

Electrical contractors

Commercial clearances

Businesses with ongoing metal waste

Collections are arranged around your business, helping customers move scrap metal quickly without disrupting operations.

On-site metal skips and scheduled collections

For larger volumes of scrap metal, McKinstry Metal Recycling offers skip and collection services across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

This option suits construction sites, commercial clearances, demolition projects, and businesses generating ongoing metal waste. Collections are arranged to suit site access and volume, helping customers move scrap metal quickly without disrupting operations.

Scrap car recycling

We buy all types of scrap vehicles, including non-runners, accident-damaged vehicles and MOT failures.

We also offer a free scrap car collection service across Northern Ireland. Once we receive the vehicle, our on-site de-pollution system removes oils, fuels, fluids and other materials that need careful handling. Our car breaker service works to a 95% recycling target, helping recover as much of each vehicle as possible.

We also notify the DVLA and provide the registered keeper with the correct paperwork, including a Certificate of Destruction.

Whether you visit once or use the yard often, you can expect a clear process, practical advice and a welcome that feels personal.

“Because it’s a family business, we care about the experience customers get when they come through the gate. A familiar face at the weighbridge makes a difference.”
